At home, you often have the impression of being free to do what you want. After all, it is a private space, out of sight. Starting from this principle, many believe that the rules stop at the front door and that everything is allowed inside. Whether to tinker, garden, or even install certain equipment, we rarely think of the laws that can be applied in this personal space. However, certain common practices can be illegal. This is the case of a particular habit, which seems at first glance harmless, when it is not at all.

Imagine yourself. After a long day, you go home and remove your clothes to be comfortable. Nothing abnormal until then. But if you decide to walk completely naked in your accommodation, even for comfort or the feeling of freedom, this is a real problem, because the law prohibits it! Indeed, few people know it, but being naked at home is punishable by a fine and even a prison sentence.

In a video, posted on the Tiktok social network, Maître Héloïse Kawaishi, @Heloisekawaishiexplains it very well. According to “Article 222-32 of the Criminal Code, breaking this law can cost dearly, up to 15,000 euros fine and one year imprisonment”. The law is clear on the subject: “The sexual exhibition imposed on the sight of others in a place accessible to the audience is punished. Even in the absence of exposure of a denuded part of the body, sexual exhibition is made up if imposed on the sight of others, in a place accessible to the eyes of the public, the explicit commission of a sexual, real or simulated act.” This applies to an apartment or a house whose windows overlook the street or are facing other accommodation. If the person is taken in the act, the sanction may be heavier in a specific case. “When the facts are committed to the prejudice of a fifteen -year -old minor, the penalties are brought to two years’ imprisonment and a fine of 30,000 euros”, indicates the law.
