The security situation in the outside world has worsened, new threats to society are brewing in a wider field than before, while the world is changing rapidly. Now the Swedish Agency for Community Safety and Preparedness (MSB) is putting SEK 20 million into research into identifying the threats and risks that lie further in the future.

MSB writes in a press release that threat analyzes are often made based on how society looks today. But developments are fast and new risks and threats may emerge that may not yet be known. Therefore, the authority invites you to apply for research funding in the area.

“In order for society to be able to face the threats and risks of the future effectively, we need to develop methods and systems that can contribute to detecting, averting and dealing with them,” says Monica Svantesson, responsible for the research call at MSB.

The first stage of the call, an expression of interest, is open from 22 February to 5 April.
