Millions celebrate the “Backstreet Boys” in Warzone 2

Call of Duty: Warzone 2’s new Proximity Chat brings fantastic social moments to the hardcore PvP game. This has already resulted in some strong videos and one in particular with the “Backstreet Boys” went through the roof.

Warzone has reinvented itself with its successor: Call of Duty: Warzone 2 does so much differently, but at its core is still the battle royale that many CoD fans came to know and love in early 2020 – maybe even a little better.

One of the reasons Warzone 2 could overtake its template is the proximity chat. That was already clear with the first reactions after the release. Chat ensures that nearby enemies can be heard.

This leads to damn funny situations and one or the other content creator has already recognized what a gold mine it is. So did YouTube streamer “Big E”, who went viral with a Warzone version of the Backstreet Boys.

Warzone 2: Proximity chat is wild in a different way

The video shows a dressed-up Big E with a glass of wine in hand. He jumps in with, “I accidentally started a boy band in Warzone’s proximity chat.” But see for yourself:

The video went around the world and has almost 2 million views and almost 70,000 likes on Twitter alone. In the comments below the tweet, users celebrate the clip violently:

  • Even the official Call of Duty Twitter account shared the video, writing, “Sounds identical.”

    The video is only cut together in this form, the situation didn’t happen like that. But the voices of the opponents are actually from the proximity chat (via youtube.com). It made many users laugh – at least until you realize that the brutal catchy tune can still be heard hours later.
