Up to two million people have been stranded after major floods in Bangladesh in the past week. At least ten people have died.

Major dams on the Barak River have burst, with more than 100 villages in the Zakiganj district in the northeast flooded in what are being described as the worst floods in the country in nearly 20 years.

New torrential rains are expected in India, which will fill the rivers and cause further flooding in the area.

According to the authorities, the dams can only be repaired when the water has receded.
