Johan Carlström, who is a major shareholder and chairman of the board of the listed biometrics company Fingerprint Cards, is sentenced by the Stockholm District Court for four cases of serious insider trading. The sentence is imprisonment for one year and six months. He must also pay SEK 1.5 million in damages. “In determining the length of the prison sentence, in a mitigating direction, the district court has taken into account the unusually long time that has elapsed between the acts and the sentence.” Claes Hemberg – independent economist – comments on the verdict in the player above.
