The weighing of milk, i.e. the milk used to produce milk for consumption, rose by two percent last year to the highest level since 2016, writes ATL with reference to statistics from the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
Peter Kofoed, director of LRF Mjölk, explains the increase with investments in, among other things, larger and more modern stables.
– We finally have momentum. We have had many years when it was the other way around with declining production. We are still fewer farmers but there is more milk, Kofoed told the newspaper.
At the same time, the weighing of organic milk decreased by 21 percent during the last year, and constituted only 13 percent of all milk.
