A high-ranking military officer is dismissed after being exposed with a large possession of anabolic steroids.

The man has previously been sentenced to a suspended sentence and fined for doping offences. Now he also loses his job because the Swedish Armed Forces’ personnel responsibility board considers him a security risk, writes Hallandsposten.

The police investigation was started after the military was stopped by the police during a car journey. Hormone preparations were found in the car and during a search of his home even more was found. A total of 4,248 units of anabolic steroids were seized.

“Use and possession of unauthorized preparations such as anabolic steroids and drugs is incompatible with working in the Armed Forces,” the board writes in its decision.
