A little over a month after its announcement, RIDE 5 is pleased to come back with a new video, this time focusing mainly on its gameplay. The latter has also been shaped on the basis of the technique, with an episode developed only on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. By focusing only on next-gen consoles, Milestone developers were able to make significant technical improvements, including polishing glass effects, material rendering, and their polygonal representation. This is possible thanks to the use of scans obtained by photogrammetry or via the CAD tool provided by the partners of the Italian studio. The result is a more realistic rendering than ever, especially since a new system of volumetric clouds has also been added. Moreover, these clouds will physically react to changes in light to make the environment more lively, with the added bonus of integrating dynamic weather. A sequence in the rain is also shared in this gameplay video to better understand the result. We are also promised a more accomplished physics, with customizable parameters and more precision. The AI promises to be improved with different levels of antagonism, which will make rivals more or less aggressive when overtaking.
The release of RIDE 5 is expected for August 24 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
