Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues his career for another year. The past year has otherwise been turbulent for the Swede, and many might have thought that his career would be over given what spring looked like for him.
Extends the contract
The playing time has become less and less, and when Milan secured the league title, he explained why. Ibrahimovic has had an injured cruciate ligament, and he admitted after the end of the season that he could only train with the team a handful of times throughout the spring.
But Ibrahimovic refuses to give up football. Despite the injuries and despite the operation he recently performed on his knee – which will keep him off the field for just over six months – he therefore chooses to extend his contract by another year.

Ibrahimovic has even agreed to lower his salary considerably, and many are now happy that Ibrahimovic will play football at the highest level even past his 41st birthday. Milan fans have really celebrated during the day, and the club themselves seem to be really happy.
