Over a month has passed since the now wanted Milad Safi was released in Norrköping.
He is still at large and the police cannot rule out that he has left Sweden.
– I don’t know if the person concerned is still printing in Norrköping or is abroad, says Detective Inspector Jan Staaf.
20-year-old Milad Safi, who was released at the Vrinnevis Hospital in Norrköping on February 8, is still at large.
No trace has been found of the now internationally wanted Safi, who was sentenced to ten years in prison for attempted murder after firing several pistol shots from a car in Bunkleflo in Malmö.
He has belonged to a subgroup of the Satudarah criminal motorcycle gang.
According to Criminal Commissioner Jan Staaf, who is working with the investigation, the investigation is progressing. But Milad Safi is still not found.
Staaf does not want to answer if they will find Safi.
– I do not know if the person concerned is still printing in Norrköping or is abroad. From experience, it is often believed that the people have managed to get abroad much faster than the reality shows. You sit and push until the situation has calmed down and then you go abroad, that’s not unusual.
Car still interesting
The police have previously expressed that they were close to a breakthrough in the hunt for Safi.
Among other things, witnesses have observed the trio’s getaway car. It was red with a black hood, eye-catching black details on the sides and a sporty rear wing.
That car was found shortly after the release on the west coast, according to prosecutor Torsten Angervåg.
He emphasizes that the current owner has not been involved or is suspected of any crime.
– The car is still of interest to the investigation and has not been ruled out. Now I’m waiting for NFC to submit analyzes of some of the findings and observations we’ve made, says Torsten Angervåg.
One person was arrested
One person was arrested after the release. However, he was not suspected of involvement in the release itself.
The man was suspected of aggravated promotion of escape and aggravated weapons offence.
– That person is not completely dismissed from the investigation, says Torsten Angervåg.
Milad’s lawyer Daniel Roos has previously represented Milad Safi. He has previously said to SVT Nyheter that it is unclear whether Safi himself was involved in the release from the Correctional Service or not.
– Since there are two armed people who come and take him, you don’t know if they are his friends or enemies, Daniel Roos said in February.
