Mila Kunis and 9 other stars return for That 90s

25 years ago, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Topher Grace rose to fame thanks to the comedy series That ’70s Show. The sequel is now available on the Netflix streaming service. The wild nineties! is the name of the series in which a new generation of teenagers make friends, experience their first love and wallow in nostalgia on our behalf.

Since the series’ plot follows that of the original and takes place 15 years later, there is the cast includes some familiar faces from That ’70s Show, including the most famous. Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher aren’t too bad about a guest appearance.

There were two important couples in That ’70s Show and one of them was Eric and Donna. In the sequel, stars Topher Grace and Laura Prepon return for guest appearances. Both characters are now parents. Eric is a college professor and Donna is a writer.

The slightly dopey Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) and snobby Jackie (Mila Kunis) were the other important couple in That ’70s Show. 14 years later, her actors also began a relationship and Kutcher and Kunis are now married. They have a guest appearance in That 90’s Show.

Don Stark once again plays the neighbor Bob Pinciotti

Donna’s father Bob Pinciotti (Don Stark) was one of the most entertaining characters in That ’70s Show and of course he couldn’t be left out of the sequel.

His series wife Midge was originally played by actress Tanya Roberts, who died in 2021 after a serious illness.

Exchange student Fez was part of Eric and Kelso’s circle of friends. For The Wild Nineties, his actor Wilmer Valderrama slips back into the role. Fez now works successfully as a hairdresser.

Cult figure Tommy Chong returns as Leo Chingwake

The 70s were the time of the hippies, which could not be missing in the original series. Hyde’s boss Leo Chingwake, who appeared in 39 episodes of That ’70s Show, represented this. Tommy Chong, one half of the duo Cheech and Chong, will reprise the character for the Netflix sequel.

Community star Jim Rash is also back

Oscar-winner Jim Rash starred in six episodes of That ’70s Show and wasn’t actually an essential part of the sitcom as Fez’s landlord Fenton. At least since Community, the actor and screenwriter has been a welcome face and so he returns in The Wild Nineties.

How is the Netflix series dealing with Hyde’s absence?

Eric’s best friend Steven Hyde will definitely not be returning. Kitty and Red’s foster son was originally played by Danny Masterson.

In 2017, the actor was accused of rape by several women. A first trial was unsuccessful due to the lack of a majority decision by the jury. A new trial has been scheduled for March 2023.

Within the story of That ’90s Show Season 1, there is no explanation for Hyde’s whereabouts. The character is simply not mentioned.
