Colorado’s Mikko Rantanen returned handsomely to the goal statistics in the hockey NHL after his five goalless games.
Mikko Rantanen took the main attention when Colorado beat St. Louis 4–1 in the NHL.
Rantanen scored the 200th perfect shot of his NHL career by Nathan MacKinnon from preliminary work in the first installment.
The forward from Turku needed 462 NHL games to reach his great goal. Only from Finns Teemu Selänne (322 matches) and Jari Kurri (328 matches) have broken the 200 Taalaliga goal mark faster than Ranta.
In the second period, Rantanen scored the 2-0 goal that became Colorado’s winning goal, which he finished off Bowen Byram.
In the final Artturi Lehkonen cleverly moved the puck to the corner of the goal with superior strength Valery to Nitshushkinwho had the easy job of completing the 3-1 goal that effectively shut down St. Louis’ greatest will to fight.
With his second hit of the night, Byram sealed Colorado’s 4-1 final score.
Justus Annunen, 22, was responsible for the saves in Colorado’s goal, stopping 19 shots in just the third game of his NHL career. The winning game was the second of his NHL career.
– The lads played wonderfully, though, and I didn’t have to stretch for top saves. All in all an easy game for me. The biggest thing for me is that I trust my own skills, Annunen, who moved to North America through Kiekko-Laser and Kärppie, commented after the game.
