Mikaela Shiffrin lost her balance during the descent of the jump in the hardest turn of the Olympia delle Tofane circuit and crashed into the safety nets in the Cortina d’Ampezzo World Cup skydiving competition.
Shiffrin was treated immediately and stood up on his own, but was unable to put his weight on his left leg. He was transported by helicopter for further examinations.
– He is up, but there is no other information about me, Shiffrin’s spokesperson Megan Harrod told the AP news agency.
It was Shiffrin’s second jump race this season. He has won the overall alpine skiing competition five times in his career and has a record 95 World Cup competition victories.
This season, Shiffrin has won seven races, including the previous jump race in St. Moritz in December.
Shiffrin’s boyfriend, Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, was badly injured earlier this month in a plunge in Wengen.
