Before this year’s election rush, a series of fake election posters appeared with satirical messages that became a talking point in social media. Behind the creations with the faces of the party leaders was Mikael Johanssonwho was then in the middle of starting a PR and marketing agency under the name Swinton International GmbH.
Then you could see, among other things, the former prime minister Magdalena Andersson pose on election posters with new messages such as: “Now we load the guns with kindness”. Here you can read more about the fake posters!
Now Mikael Andersson has been on the move again and spreading new encouraging messages. This time it was nothing less than Willy’s self-scanning checkouts that got a new look.
Mikael Johansson left his mark on Willys
In a new TikTok video, you can see Mikael who was at Willys in central Stockholm, where he plugs a USB stick into the grocery store’s self-scanning checkouts to put his own stamp on the screens.
The tills are then loaded with several heart-warming and somewhat bold greetings such as: “Thanks for self-scanning at Willys! You’re still a 10 to us”, “F**k he’ll do it, he’ll self-scan” and “King you e that self-scans”.
Mikael was inspired by the TikToker Von Tilander who jumped on the trend “he’s a 10 but..”, whereupon in one of her latest TikTok videos she hinted at the food chain Willys and wrote “He’s a 10a but self-scans at Willys”.
– I thought the trend that Von Tilander started was funny and I wanted to put my own spin on it. I run a marketing agency and as part of our own marketing we do campaigns for voluntary companies. If Willys had been a little faster on the ball, they could have done this and gotten free PR and goodwill, says Mikael Johansson News24.
Willys staff wanted to see a sequel
Mikael, who goes by the name michaelnevernotcum on TikTok, says that he himself was surprised that he could plug in his USB stick and transfer his own designed layout to Willy’s screens.
– I was very surprised, it feels like a real blunder that they didn’t turn off the I/O on the tills.
The day after Mikael’s “prank”, he was back at Willys filming a sequel, then staff at the food chain also helped with filming.
– It was warmly appreciated. Now, however, it seems that Willys may have fixed the ability to plug in USB sticks.
