Mika Zibanejad’s big show in the NHL playoffs last night – rave reviews after the super match: “Outstanding!”

The New York Rangers are flying ahead in the NHL playoffs.
Now Mika Zibanejad is praised to the skies after the show last night.
– He was outstanding, says coach Peter Laviolette.

New York Rangers fans dream of first Stanley Cup title in 30 years. They won the regular season and have looked hot to say the least in the playoffs, when they knocked out the Washington Capitals in the first round with a clear 4-0 in games.

Big show tonight

However, the Capitals were the last team into the playoffs, and perhaps not the biggest test. But last night it was time for the first game of the second round of the playoffs, against the tough Carolina Hurricanes. But then Rangers showed that they are a force to be reckoned with. And Mika Zibanejad stepped forward when it was needed most.

After less than three minutes played in the match against the Hurricanes, Zibanejad found a good gap in front of the goal, and when the passes came from Jack Roslovic, Zibanejad scored 1-0. Just seven minutes later it was time again. In the power play, Zibanejad received a great pass from Chris Kreider, and then Zibanejad scored 2-1.

Two praises now

Before the end of the first period, Rangers managed to score another goal in the power play, this time with Zibanejad as forward for Vincent Trocheck, which meant 3-1. The Rangers eventually won 4-3, and thus got a dream start to the second round against the difficult Hurricanes. And for Mika Zibanejad, success is total. He is now second in NHL playoff scoring, only beaten by Connor McDavid.

– I know that, among other things, I have offensive responsibilities and will be a producer, so of course it’s fun to contribute, says Zibanejad to Aftonbladet.

Mika Zibanejad had slumps during the regular season, but in the playoffs, when players are supposed to be at their very best, he has stepped up to say the least. And afterwards he was praised by coach Peter Laviolette.

– He was outstanding tonight, he says.
