The Spanish Miguel Ángel Jiménez won his twelfth title this Sunday -second this season- on the veterans circuit of the PGA Tour (Champions Tour), by winning the Cologuard Classic, disputed since Friday in Tucson, Arizona (United States), where he signed up to two holes in one.
The 58-year-old from Malaga won the Omni Tucson National with 195 total shots (18 under par) and three rounds of 66 (-6), 67 (-5) and 65 (-7). He made two ‘aces’ in three days: one on the 7th hole during the first day and another this Sunday on the 14th.
He was four times ahead of the American Woody Austin and the German Bernhard Langer, who shared second place with -14.
Jiménez, who leads the tour’s money list (Schwab Cup), has already accumulated twelve titles on the PGA Tour Champions, including two ‘majors’ (Regions Tradition and Senior Open) and this year he has already added two in three tournaments played, since on January 22, he lifted the winner’s trophy of the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, Hawaii.
