Middlesex man charged with child luring: Chatham-Kent police

A Middlesex County man has been charged with child luring, Chatham-Kent police say.

Internet child exploitation (ICE) unit officers began investigating allegations that a man was luring a child on social media, police said. A house was searched and a suspect arrested Jan. 4.

A victim was identified and offered the necessary support, police added.

A Melbourne man, 39, is charged with luring a child under 18 for a sexual purpose, police said. He was held pending a bail hearing.

Melbourne is on the boundary between Strathroy-Caradoc and Southwest Middlesex, about 45 minutes southwest of London.

A publication ban is in place which limits the information that can be released, police said.

Man faces indecent act charge

A Tilbury resident faces charges after an indecent act complaint at a local library, Chatham-Kent police say.

Officers began investigating an alleged Saturday incident at the Tilbury Library on Monday. police said. A suspect was identified and arrested.

A Tilbury man, 26, is charged with committing an indecent act in a public place and failing to comply with a probation order, police said. He was held pending a bail hearing.
