(Finance) – The Prime MinisterGiorgia Melonihad this afternoon a telephone conversation with the King of Jordan Abdallah II sabout the regional situation in the Middle East after the Iranian attack on Israel.
Palazzo Chigi reports this in a note explaining that “President Meloni recalled the conclusions of the G7 Leaders’ meeting which he chaired on Sunday and the two Leaders focused on the need to avoid further escalation in the region.
In line with the G7 Declaration, President Meloni recalled the importance of ending the crisis in Gaza, continuing to work for an immediate and sustainable ceasefire and for the release of the hostages by Hamas.”
“The two Leaders then discussed the response to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza in which Jordan plays a leading role. President Meloni reiterated Italy’s commitment to providing humanitarian assistance to the population of the Strip. President Meloni and King Abdullah have agreed to keep in close contact in the coming weeks”, concludes the note.
