On Friday, the Western allies carried out large-scale airstrikes on areas of Yemen controlled by the Houthi rebels. Among other things, the news covered the attacks Al Arabiya, Haaretz and N12.
It is not yet completely clear who exactly are behind the airstrikes. Depending on the sources, the author is said to be Israel, Britain or the United States.
According to the Israeli news site N12, attacks have been carried out in coastal areas “against underground targets”. N12 says these include radar and weapon systems. According to the N12 channel, attacks have been made north of the Houthi-controlled capital Sana’a, but also in the capital itself.
According to the Houthis’ Al Masirah TV channel, at least an airstrike has been carried out on the Heyazi power plant.
The British security company Ambrey also talks about the attacks. According to Ambrey, the attacks targeted at least the port of Ras Issa, which is the main oil export port in the areas controlled by the Houthi rebels.
The Houthi rebels have been attacking merchant ships in the Red Sea for about a year and a half. According to the Houthis, the attacks are revenge for Israel’s military operations in Gaza.
