Microsoft’s xCloud is now compatible with Valve’s Steam Deck

Microsofts xCloud is now compatible with Valves Steam Deck

It is now official. xCloud, Microsoft’s streaming game platform is accessible from the Steam Deck. Microsoft just announced it through a tweet posted by Catherine Glucksein, Xbox Cloud Gaming Product and Strategy Manager.

To achieve this, Valve worked hand in hand with Microsoft teams, but also with Google Chrome developers. Because if until now Steam Deck users could access xCloud, Valve’s portable console command system was not supported.
The Microsoft teams in charge of the Edge browser have therefore gone back to work and have just published a beta version of the browser that is perfectly compatible with the Steam Deck.

We have worked closely with our friends at Valve and the Xbox Cloud Gaming team to support Xbox Cloud Gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via Microsoft Edge for the Steam Deck,” at the same time indicated the community manager in charge of Edge in a post published on Reddit.

The arrival of xCloud on the Steam Deck is rather good news for its owners. While some titles developed by Xbox Games Studios (an entity owned by Microsoft) are already compatible with Valve’s portable console, Xbox Game Pass is not available, at least for now, Valve having recently indicated be ready to help the Redmond firm to offer it on Steam.
