Microsoft will test a restore function in the Windows 11

Microsoft has just announced the testing of a new function that should make life easier for Windows 11 users who have several PCs or who often change machines.
This function concerns the application store. If you’ve already downloaded and installed apps, you can easily restore them to another Windows 11 device that uses your account. The screenshot below (click to enlarge) shows that it will be possible to restore all apps by clicking a single button.

It will also be possible to restore the applications one by one, without having to search for them again in the Microsoft Store.

The publisher also wants to facilitate research in the store, and will test its direct integration within the Windows 11 search box. In the example below, a link to the Microsoft Store is offered for Spotify.

These functions will soon be offered to members of the Windows Insider test program. Currently, Microsoft is trying to fill the lack of apps in its store by accelerating the arrival of Win32 programs, which were previously subject to a waiting list.
Microsoft Store last year hosted ACDSee Gemstone, Adobe Express, Audacity, Canva, Course Hero, Discord, Drawboard PDF, Epic Games, Firefox, Luminar Neo & Luminar AI, Mailchimp, Meitu XiuXiu, Microsoft Teams, OpenOffice , Paramount+, PuTTY, WinZip, and Zoom.

Finally, the publisher is continuing to test the deployment of the Amazon Appstore. After the United States, Amazon’s Android application store will arrive in early access (preview version) by the end of the year in five other countries, including France.
