Microsoft is testing a new Task Manager in Windows 11

The Windows task manager as we know it today may be living its last moments. Microsoft is indeed about to deploy, in a future update, a new version of its Windows monitoring tool.
In any case, this is what suggests the discovery of Gustave Monce, a French developer, who unearthed a new hidden version of the utility in build 22538 of Windows 11 deployed within the Dev channel among Insiders. He shared his find on Discord.

If it does not seem completely functional for the moment, this new task manager which would be tested internally at Microsoft, is compatible with the dark theme of the operating system. However, it is mainly based on a brand new interface adopting the codes of Fluent Design, more in line with that of Windows 11.
The current task manager tabs, which allow you to navigate between the different sections of the utility, do not change, but have migrated to the left of the window.

Since the release of Windows 11 last October, Microsoft has been gradually updating old native applications inherited from older versions of Windows. A few weeks ago, the Redmond firm had for example unveiled a new version of notepads, and more recently of its multimedia player Windows Media Player.
