Microsoft is preparing a redesign of the OneDrive interface to meet the graphic charter of Windows 11. The publisher should also offer better integration of the storage service into the operating system.
Microsoft has mistakenly made available a beta of the new version of its OneDrive application for Windows 11. This version does not bring new functions, but benefits from an in-depth interface revision. This follows the graphic design elements put in place by Microsoft for Windows 11, as shown in the screenshots posted on Twitter.

In addition to the icons and fonts typical of Windows 11, we find the menu system placed on the left side of the window. It provides access to synchronization and notifications options, as well as account settings. Microsoft has also planned to allow the user of the paid version of OneDrive to directly manage their account in the Windows 11 settings. storage available.
Note that this beta version of OneDrive was initially intended for internal testing at Microsoft. It is therefore very likely that the application will change again before its final version. Microsoft has not communicated on it and has not indicated whether it will be included in the 22H2 version of Windows 11, which is scheduled for October.
Stories in OneDrive
In the meantime, the publisher has announced the concept of photo story for OneDrive, which is reminiscent of Facebook Stories. This function allows you to share photos and videos with your friends and family. They can react to items by adding comments and reactions. Sharing is done by adding the Microsoft account address of the person you want to invite. Only photos and videos stored on OneDrive can be used. You can then remove access from certain people, or even completely delete a share. It is also possible to add a cover photo and a description for each story. Microsoft insists that the feature is available even for the free version of OneDrive, and does not feature advertising.
The feature is currently being tested in Australia and will be available in other countries later this year. It requires the mobile version of OneDrive (iOS or Android), or to go through the website.
