(Finance) – The European Commission is ready to launch a formal antitrust investigation on Microsoftnext week.
According to Brussels, the Redmond-based company is unfairly offering its Teams video conferencing app with Office software, violating EU competition laws, as reported by the Financial Times citing other sources.
This is the first formal investigation in 15 years since the last case in 2008, when Microsoft came under the scrutiny of the European antitrust, convicted of abuse of a dominant position, accused of forcing users to download Internet Explorer with Windows.
