Microids buys part of OSome Studio (Asterix & Obelix XXL)

Microids buys part of OSome Studio Asterix Obelix XXL

Decidedly, the news around Microids never stops. Verbose for more than a year, the French publisher has just announced a stake in OSome Studio, with which it has been collaborating for several years. After the sympathetic and original White Night in 2015, the studio from Lyon has chained projects with Microids, since they worked on Asterix & Obelix XXL2: Las Vegum, Asterix & Obelix XXL3: The Crystal Menhir and more recently The Smurfs: Mission Malfeuille. This purchase, minimal at first, especially allows Microids to consolidate good relations with the studio in which the publisher seems to believe, the latter not being stingy with talent it is true. On one side as on the other, we see this participation as a real commitment and mutual trust.

“After the creation of Microids Studio Lyon and Microids Studio Paris, we want to make a lasting commitment with one of our partner studios, OSome Studio. At Microids, we believe that in 2022 it is essential to maintain partnerships with French studios which are the pride of our video game cultural heritage”says Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids. “We see Microids’ acquisition of a stake in our studio as a perfect way to sustain a long-term partnership. It allows us to continue to bring iconic licenses such as Asterix and The Smurfs to life, but also to develop internationally and thus strengthen our team, with other licenses and other challenges to come. We welcome Microids with open arms and we look forward to pushing our collaboration even further.” says Mathieu Frémont, CEO and co-founder of OSome Studio. It remains to be seen now what game the studio is working on…
