Micke Leijnegard has been faithful to the Master of Masters all these years.
Now he reveals the truth about the much acclaimed SVT program.

Ever since the start in 2008, the presenter has Mike Leijnegard has become synonymous with the celebrated SVT program “Master of Masters”. We’re now in the 16th season of the ex-athlete competition show and Leijnegard has led every single episode with a steady hand.

It is also noticeable in the TV box how much he loves being the host of the Master of Masters and getting to work with many of his biggest idols from Swedish sports. Today he is 59 years old and it has never really been strange that he has become “Mr. Master of masters” in SVT.

But it takes enormous hard work and now Micke Leijnegard reveals the truth about the TV show and just how hard he works on the TV recordings.
– So it’s insane. How many hours are you awake in a day? You sleep seven, and those who are left, you work when you are on Masters of Masters. Sometimes you feel that you can’t take it and that you are getting old, but it works, he admits in an interview with Aftonbladet.
Leijnegard reveals salary
Even the preparations for a new season are tough and the SVT profile reveals that he is “yo-yo dieting” before the recording weeks abroad.
– You have to make sure you don’t look completely disgusting. When spring comes, I’m a bit “flabby”… But then we go to the cabin and I do some carpentry and then you’re in a little better shape when you go back, he tells the evening newspaper.

But the big question is how much he actually earns from being the face of one of Swedish television’s most popular programs. Now Leijnegard answers and reveals his financial conditions.
– I am permanently employed and have a salary at a public service company, that says it all, so I don’t earn any money. I have so I manage, sometimes there is too much month left at the end of the money. It works, thank goodness I have Sanna (the wife) who is economical and smart. Before I met her, it was a lot of minuses at times, he says in the interview and reveals that there will be nothing extra for the Master of Masters in particular.
– No, but it doesn’t affect anything. I earn somewhere around 70,000 a month. That’s great, but if you’re almost 60 and have worked as a journalist since you were 22 then… yes.
