Why Michel Sardou is back in concert
The surprise is therefore significant for fans of the singer, whose last tour in 2018 was aptly named The Last Dance. At the end of this tour, the artist had at the time affirmed to RTL “I think I’ve done my job enough, I’m not going to sing I will love you up to 83 years old. The one who will celebrate his 76th birthday next January explained in the columns of the Parisian that it was his wife Anne-Marie Périer who pushed him to find the stage, when he would have preferred to stay away from it in order to devote himself to the theater.
“Me, I have nothing to do with my return. For nothing! I didn’t want to come back… But I was taken in by my wife (…) she ended up persuading me. Anyway, she was threatening to leave me and go back to her brother… She blackmailed me!” Michel Sardou explained to the Parisian.
What we know about Michel Sardou’s new tour
30 dates have so far been announced for this new (and last this time?) Michel Sardou tour. “We will have twenty musicians, only new ones except my friend, my brother Pierre Billon, and choristers”, explains the singer to the Parisian. On the program for these new concerts, “a mash-up” of Michel Sardou’s “essential hits”, with, he promises, “a surprising version of Connemara and forgotten songs, like Let’s talk about you, about me and I remember a goodbye“, song which gave its name to this tour.
