Michel Levy 60 years of Algerian music

On the occasion of the anniversary of the independence of Algeria, the producer Michel Levy presents a 5-CD box set entitled “Algeria in songs” and a double CD “Algeria my love”. Anthologies that return in songs to the history of Algeria over the past 60 years. The opportunity to (re)discover an immensely rich repertoire with artists such as Cheikha Remitti, Rachid Taha, Idir, Dahmane El Harrachi, Raïna Raï, Cheb Hasni, Louiza, Cheb Hamidou and many others.

Today marks the 60th anniversary of Algeria’s independence, July 5, 1962. An opportunity for VMDN to immerse us in Algerian music. Since 1962, music, through its notes but above all through the commitments of artists, has accompanied the upheavals of Algerian history, through chaabi, raï, Kabyle music and more recently rap.

To accompany us on this historical and musical journey, the producer Michael Levy. His label MLP Music has released a double CD entitled “Algeria my love”, and also presents with Wagram Music a box of 5 CDs called “Algeria in songs”.

Reportage : A forgotten haute couture house, a Franco-Indian love story, born in Paris between two student designers. The City of Lace and Fashion in Calais, in the North of France, retraces their journey, largely inspired by their travels in the Orient. Amelie Beaucour went there for VMDN.
