The occupied Kherson region of southern Ukraine is to be annexed to Russia. The conquest is intended to be given legitimacy with the help of a rigged referendum, modeled on the annexation of Crimea. But it’s in a hurry. The Ukrainian military is on the counter-offensive and it is not excluded that Kherson will be taken back.
