Two weeks after its great debut, the Miami International Autodrome only has to finalize details in its facilities. The construction of the route is “95% finished”, according to the statement from the championship itself, which leaves the exceptions very high for the fifth test of a course that will reach 23 races. “We are in the final phases of this incredible circuit that will host the first Formula 1 race in Miami,” said Richard Cregan, general manager of the grand prix that will be held from May 6 to 8 in the vicinity of the Miami Campus, with the Hard Rock Stadium as the starting point for those 5.41km that make up the new layout. The track will have 19 curves, three straights (the longest is 1.28km) and three DRS zones where, according to the simulators, the drivers will go flat out for 58% of the laps, with speeds reaching 320 km/h.

After a year of construction (since April 2021), the track already has its permanent structures, such as boxes, garages and the race control tower, nearing completion. Meanwhile, the asphalt was finished with the last section already last March and, during these last weeks, attention is already focused on the final adjustment of the temporary structures around the entire track, like the exclusives beach-club, VIP areas and stands for the thousands of fans expected throughout the weekend.
