MGS 4 5 and Peace Walker Moving to New Platforms

Evidence has surfaced that new ports of Metal Gear Solid 4, 5 and Peace Walker have been panned.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is now available on PS5 and PS4. However, fans quickly discovered evidence of ports of more Metal Gear games. Reddit user Timo635 notes that he found clear hints of Metal Gear Solid 4, Peace Walker, and Metal Gear Solid 5 in the PC launcher of the Metal Gear Solid 2 version of the collection.

Other MGS Games May Also Come to New Generations

According to Timo635, “There is a function to see the assets listed across the games. There are also references to 4, 5 and Peace Walker, indicating that they could perhaps be part of Vol 2.”

‘Vol. 1’ already hinted that Konami was planning more Metal Gear games, but this direct confirmation has us all even more excited.

Considering Metal Gear Solid 4 remains locked to PS3, this could be the beginning of a new era. Peace Walker, on the other hand, was freed from the limitations of the PSP in the PS3 port. It’s exciting to think that both games may be ported to different platforms in the near future. However, considering the PS3-specific features of Metal Gear Solid 4, we are eagerly awaiting what the port will be like.

Metal Gear Solid 5 already runs pretty well (thanks to backwards compatibility on PS4 and PS5), so we’re guessing it will probably be re-released within the Master Collection.

Finally, there have been previous rumors that these games could be part of Vol 2, so it wouldn’t be misleading to say that this evidence has been confirmed.
