US President Donald Trump, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum met with the phone. After the meeting, Trump announced that Mexico will not pay customs duty until 2 April for any goods entering the United States within the scope of the US-Mexican-Canadian Agreement (USMCA) trade agreement.
Trump: “We agreed”
Trump, “Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum after my meeting with, Mexico’s USMCA agreement for nothing to pay for nothing to pay. This agreement is valid until April 2. This is a compromise and I did because of the respect of President Sheinbaum,” he said.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum described his meeting with Trump as “perfect and respectful”, and promised that his government would work on security and migration. Sheinbaum said that most of Mexico imported products to the United States is suitable for the trade agreement.
