A shooting incident took place in southern Mexico on Tuesday, resulting in the death of six migrants.
According to the Mexican authorities, a truck carrying 33 migrants tried to avoid a military patrol on duty on the highway, after which the soldiers opened fire. Six migrants died and ten were wounded.
According to the Mexican Ministry of Defense, the migrant group included people from at least Egypt, Nepal, Cuba, India and Pakistan. According to the ministry, the two soldiers who opened fire have been dismissed from their duties.
