Meteor Build for Wizards – Skills & Legendaries

Sorceresses have become a little weaker again in Diablo 4 with Season 3. A fairly new build has now appeared high up in the tier list: the Meteor build. MeinMMO shows how you play the build and which skills & legendaries you need.

What kind of build is this? The Meteor build is one of the 3 best builds for magicians in Season 3. You cover the entire battlefield with meteors that split into small fireballs and stun, shatter and burn enemies.

The build is made possible by a new unique from Season 3, which frees the meteor skill from its mana cost. This makes the build competitive and even one of the strongest at the moment.

The build first appeared on maxroll.gg, we have expanded it with our own experiences and tips for playing.

Per

  • Ideal against large groups and for farming
  • Easy to play
  • Robust thanks to good defense
  • New Fire build after Lightning and Frost dominated recently
  • Cons

  • Almost useless against bosses
  • Really useless against bosses, that’s not just saying
  • Highly dependent on the right equipment

  • Flame Shield – 1/5

  • Improved Ice Blades
  • Summoned Ice Blades
  • Precision Magic (passive) – 3/3
  • Alignment of elements (passive) – 3/3
  • Mana Shield (passive) – 3/3
  • Protection (passive) – 3/3
  • Meteor – 5/5
  • Improved Meteor
  • Wizard’s Meteor
  • Inner Flames (passive) – 3/3
  • Devouring Conflagration (passive) – 3/3
  • Freezing – 1/1
  • Supreme deep freeze
  • Superior deep freezing
  • Esu’s Ferocity (Central Passive)
  • While you’re still leveling, use:

  • Inferno instead of deep freeze
  • Frost Nova (mystical) and Fireball instead of some of the passive skills
  • You need these enchantments: As a sorceress, you can put 2 of your skills into enchantment slots to receive passive bonuses. Here you use ice blades and teleportation to benefit from the vulnerabilities. Until you find your uniques, you should use fireball as an enchantment instead of blades.

This is how you play the build: The gameplay is quite simple: using teleportation (and the Robe of the Infinite), you gather enemies at one point and then cast meteors until the enemies are dead. The armor provides you with barriers and damage multipliers. Your cooldowns allow you to summon ice blades, which in turn reset the cooldowns. Deep Freeze is your gap filler and resets all cooldown times at the push of a button.

Meteor Build – Paragon and Glyphs

You need these Paragon cutters and glyphs:

  • Start – Elementalist
  • Scorching Heat – Adept
  • Enchantment Master – Reinforced
  • Static surge – control
  • Burning Instinct – Destruction
  • Ice Cold Fate – Flame Eater
  • You should increase these glyphs:

  • First get Adept to level 15, then Control, Flame Eater and Destruction. Lastly, Elementalist and Reinforced. Torch serves as a placeholder.
  • You should then first bring Destruction and Control to 21, then Adept, Flame Eater, Enhanced and finally Elementalist.
  • Meteor Build in Season 3 – Legendary and Seneschal

You need these Legendaries & Uniques:

  • Head: Starfall Diadem (Unique; must be found)
  • Chest: Garb of the Infinite (unique; must be found)
  • Hands: Broken Stars (must be found)
  • Legs: Disobedience (Kehjistan; Halls of the Damned)
  • Feet: Quick connection (dry steppe; condor temple)
  • Amulet: Three Curses (Hawezar; Serpent’s Nest)
  • Ring 1: Rusty X’Fal Signet Ring (unique; must be found)
  • Ring 2: Tal Rasha’s Iridescent Circlet (unique; must be found)
  • Weapon: Vain (must be found)
  • Focus: Elemental (Dry Steppe; Pale Hollow)
  • Until you have found the necessary aspects and items, you can resort to a few alternatives. In particular, the headboard and the broken star aspect are only useful in combination. Use as long as:

  • Aspect of the Unshakeable (Head)
  • Aspect of Control (Hands)
  • Snowveiled Aspect (Chest)
  • Prodigy’s Aspect (Ring)
  • The best way to farm the diadem is from the Beast in the Ice. For all other uniques, there are bosses again in Season 3 where you can farm them specifically. The best place to get Uber Uniques is from Duriel:

    by Christos Tsogos

This is how you skill your seneschal:

  • Adrenaline rush with tactical support, continuous support and initiative support
  • Hurricane with Arc Support, Efficiency Support and Fuse Support
  • If you have mana problems, especially at the beginning, you can use resource support instead of arc support. You can find all the stones and the functions of the Seneschal in our guide.

You can generally replace the voting stones with the two Uber Uniques if you find them.

These gemstones are best for setting:

  • Armor: Rubies
  • Weapons: Emeralds
  • Jewelry: skull
  • Final Tips: The Meteor build has great potential, but is extremely tiring to level. You won’t have much fun, especially before you’ve at least found the Meteor Unique. You can do next to nothing, especially against bosses, the build is simply not suitable for that. Individual goals take forever. You will probably be better able to use the ball lightning build for leveling and farming, even if you then have to farm for longer. But it will be easier for you. You can find all the top builds in our tier list for Diablo 4 Season 3.
