If you want to change the maximum usage time per day of the Instagram app, you’re going to have a bad surprise. The settings have changed and it is no longer possible to set a duration of 15 minutes, or even 10 minutes, as before. Now, the minimum value allowed is 30 minutes, and it is possible to go up to three hours, which is the first choice as shown in the screenshot below.
Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, did not comment on the change. Does it correspond more to user expectations? Or is it simply Meta’s desire to incentivize longer usage per day? Indeed, Meta’s latest financial results are not good, with an almost zero increase in the rate of use of its apps between the third and fourth quarters of 2021. Users therefore have to stay longer to offer them more. .. more publicity.

Remember that the daily time limit is an option to protect users from overuse, by displaying a notification as soon as a certain time is exceeded. But Meta must have thought 10 minutes wasn’t enough to stay glued to Instagram…
