METALLIC. The legendary American heavy metal band Metallica, which will release a new album in the spring, is back on tour in North America and Europe, with two concerts at the Stade de France in Paris.

Monday, November 28, the Californian quartet announced the forthcoming release of a new studio album, but also a tour of Europe and North America in 2023 and 2024. A series of concerts that will pass through France, in Paris, at the Stade de France, May 17 and 19, 2023. For these two event dates, the ticket office opened for presale on Thursday, then in the usual points of sale this Friday, at 9 a.m.

Metallica will also unveil a twelfth album, the first since Hardwired…To Self-Destruct published in 2016: titled 72 Seasonsthis new disc produced by Greg Fidelman is announced in stores on April 14, 2023 and will have twelve titles, including the song Lux Aeternasingle unveiled Monday, November 28.

According to James Hetfield, the title of this new album is a reference to the “first eighteen years of our lives which form our true or our false selves”. “Our parents asked us ‘who we are’ (…). The essence of our adult experience is to replay or react to our childhood experiences. To be prisoners of our childhood or to free ourselves from these links”, writes the American singer in a press release accompanying the announcement of 72 Seasons.

This is the announcement of this end of the year: an XXL tour of Metallica in 2023 and 2024, on the occasion of the release of the twelfth album of the group. The tour will begin in Amsterdam on April 27 and will take the Californian quartet to France, Germany, Sweden, then the United States, Canada, before returning to Europe and up to new concerts in North America until in September 2024.
