(Finance) – The more than three-hour meeting at the Ministry of Culture laid the foundations for the recovery of the negotiation between Meta and SIAE aimed at establishing a fee for the authors for the musical content that passes on the Facebook and Instagram platforms, but an agreement still appears to be far away.
“We had a long discussion with SIAE and there are still important unresolved points. We will continue to work to find an agreement that satisfies all the parties” said a Meta spokesperson on the sidelines of the Government Table for the Meta – SIAE negotiation which has just ended.
“We discussed their respective positions with Meta for a long time, but at present – declares the SIAE – we are still far from the precise indications formulated yesterday by the AGCM. However, we continue to work in the hope of reaching a shared solution”.
