According to Reuters, Meta said in a statement that it will offer a subscription plan to users in Europe (EU, EEA and Switzerland) to use Facebook and Instagram without ads in order to comply with European Union regulations.
In other words, people in these countries will be able to subscribe for a fee to use the products without advertising.
PRICES
Monthly subscription plans for users in the EU, EEA and Switzerland will be €9.99 per month for web users. iOS and Android users will have to pay 12.99 Euros per month.
It is said that offering an option between a free, ad-supported plan and an ad-free paid subscription could lead users to opt for the former plan, which could help Meta comply with regulations without impacting its advertising business.
