During the night, at least 150 people have been taken into custody under the Law on Intoxication (LOB) throughout the country, according to the police’s website.
In Västernorrland, 19 people were taken into custody after getting too drunk.

In connection with the Christmas Day spree, several crimes have also come to the attention of the police. In Varberg, a fight broke out between eight people on a bus, which resulted in a report of assault. In Katrineholm and Eskilstuna, fights have occurred in the pub environment. Also in Örebro, a man is suspected of assault in a nightclub.
In Umeå, two suspected assaults took place within the space of just over half an hour. In none of the cases is there a suspect.
Early in the morning, the police were alerted to a serious assault in Helsingborg, where four men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of having hit and kicked a man. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.
In Sandviken, three people have been arrested on suspicion of serious assault, after a fight broke out in a pub environment. Two men were injured and taken to hospital.
“Fillekaos” in Norway
Despite many cases of drunkenness and assault, according to the police, it is difficult to say whether this year’s Christmas night was messier than usual on a national level.
