Recently, we have come across different products of many companies regarding smart home appliances. One of these companies is Meross. In this content, we will examine the company’s smart lamp, smart ambient light and smart socket products.
First of all, before going into details, all products have Apple Homekit, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and SmartThings support. But I did these tests with iPhone 14, that is, on Apple Homekit. Since the system works in full harmony, I can say that I did not even need its own application, as I will explain the details soon. After adding this note, let’s move on to the details.

Meross Wi-Fi ambient light (MSL 420)
First of all, let’s take a look at the Wi-Fi ambient light, coded as MSL420, which is one of the most striking products. One of my favorite points of this ambient light, which can also be controlled via WLAN, is that it works in harmony with Apple Home.
In this way, if you are using an iPhone model, you can make all the customizations related to this light from within the Home application without the need for another application and provide smart lighting. You also have the chance to turn the light on and off instantly thanks to the shortcut on the control bar. I use it this way, especially when I’m shooting, it’s one of my favorite features that I can intervene with the light very quickly, as it gives color to the background.

When we look at the design of the device, we see that it has an oval and slightly flattened structure at the top. 2/3 of the product is reserved as light. At the bottom, the part where we make the electrical input is recessed inwards and it is ensured to sit on the flat floor with a cable slot.
Apart from the Wi-Fi button, which we also synchronize when connecting, there is an on-off button on the device. When you press this button for a long time, you perform the on-off operation. But if you press it once, it switches between light modes. There are eight different lights here and you switch each time you press it. In this way, the application can be used without even the need for a phone.

Of course, although ready-made colors are like this, it is possible to customize the colors of this ambiance light, which also has Google assistant and Amazon Alexa support, much more from your phone. You can make these customizations from the Home application or Meross’ own application.
You see different ready colors in the app. When you say edit on a ready color, you can choose the one you want from RGB colors, and you can also adjust the temperature or brightness. The Meross MSL 420 model has become a model that I love to use both in shooting and in daily use.

The MSL 100 coded smart led bulb also has Wi-Fi feature. Just like the MSL 420 model, it is fully compatible with the Apple Home application. The smart bulb model, which provides soft light of 2700 kelvin, actually has classic bulb lines in design. You know, if you showed it to someone, they’d probably think it was a normal light bulb. But with its features, it is of course more capable than conventional bulbs.
Apart from Apple Homekit, this bulb also works fully compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Of course, this time we have a monochrome model instead of RGB. This model, which has 810 lumens, has 6W electricity consumption. Although the company has RGB models, the MSL100 model only has yellow light.

At this point, we have to say that the usage preference comes to the fore. For example, I am one of those who do not like yellow light, I generally prefer white light. That’s why I had to remove it after using it heavily for about two weeks of testing. Because I was shooting at the same time in my study room, my overhead light, which I used as a toning adjustment, also had to be white.
As I said, it’s all a matter of preference, but if you don’t like yellow light like me, it can be much more advantageous to use it as a desk lamp or you can choose different smart bulb types. you can browse. Without forgetting, it is possible to adjust the brightness of the bulb via the application. I can say that when you open it fully, it illuminates your room and gives a nice dim light at the dimmest. Especially for shooting, it can be used much better with a lampshade in the background, in a slightly dim light.

Finally, let’s look at the smart Wi-Fi socket numbered MSS 120. Apart from their features, smart sockets are extremely important, especially with their current protection structure. This socket works in full compatibility with Apple Homekit, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, just like other models. If you are using an Android or iOS model other than the Meross application, you can control it from there.
This model, which also has a current protection feature, has two sockets. On the side of the socket, there is an on button and indicator lights. I especially liked this use of light. The opening button is surrounded by two semi-circles. Because you can cut the electricity of these sockets through the application. This is reflected in the notification light.

There is also a timer feature for this socket. In other words, after making the adjustment, you can have the power cut off after a certain period of time. It offers a super solution especially for coffee machines or similar devices. Because it is possible to set the time when the socket will be activated. In this way, when you get up in the morning or while you are coming home from outside thanks to the remote control feature, your coffee can be ready at the exact time you want it hot, without your intervention.
