Two American combat sports heavyweights, the American Professional Wrestling League (World Wrestling Entertainment, WWE) and the main mixed martial arts organization, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), will merge, according to a press release published on Monday 3 april. The entertainment juggernaut Endeavor, which currently owns the UFC, will hold a majority stake of 51% in the new entity, against 49% for WWE shareholders, the two groups specify in their press release.
