UTRECHT – 28-year-old Merel de Zeeuw works as a pediatric nurse in Utrecht. Her dream job, which she fulfills with a few adjustments: Merel was born hard of hearing. In 2019, her sight also became less. The doctor diagnosed Usher Syndrome. A rare condition that causes Merel to become blind as well as deaf.
