Mercedes-Benz Turkishcontinues to put its new generation buses on the roads, fully compatible with GSR scopes.
The company published a statement on this subject and detailed the following: “Mercedes-Benz Türk, the leading brand of the Turkish heavy commercial vehicle industry, continues to shape the future of the industry with its innovative products and services. The company provides maximum comfort and safety on long journeys with the high-level security equipment it has integrated into its buses, within the scope of the amendments to the EU General Safety Regulation (GSR). Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA6): Active Brake Assist 6 in Mercedes-Benz Travego and Tourismo buses signed by Mercedes-Benz Türk activates the active braking system in case of a risk of rear-end collision with vehicles in front or fixed obstacles. The system, which can detect stationary and moving pedestrians and cyclists in front of the vehicle, gives an audible and visual warning to the driver and automatically initiates partial braking. The system also prevents negative situations by performing emergency braking according to the driver’s reaction. Active Brake Assist 6, which contributes greatly to preventing accidents, remains active in the background unless it is turned off.

Mercedes-Benz Türk recommends that this system, which is vital for driving safety, not be turned off manually by the driver. The ABA 6 safety system, which also reacts to pedestrians and cyclists between speeds of 10 km/h-60 km/h, reacts with automatic braking to cyclists who cross the road in the vehicle’s own lane or move with oncoming pedestrians. This automation maximizes safety for pedestrians and cyclists in both intercity and urban traffic. It keeps driving safety at a high level by applying partial and/or full braking against vehicle traffic at high speeds on intercity roads.
Side Protection Assist (SGA2): Side Protection Assistant stands out as a safety assistant that supports the driver in critical situations, such as right or left turns where visibility is limited. Designed to help detect obstacles moving within its boundaries, avoid critical situations or warn the driver when turning and changing lanes, the system constantly scans the side areas of the vehicle. Thus, vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists who may be on the right, left and blind spot of the vehicle can be detected. While the radar system detects movements precisely and warns the driver of possible collisions, the intuitive user interface and understandable warnings enable the driver to drive safely and comfortably.
Traffic Sign Assist (TSA): Thanks to GPS and camera support, the system constantly compares vehicle speed with current traffic regulations and quickly provides appropriate and relevant feedback in case the permitted speed is exceeded. Thanks to the easy, understandable and practical instrument panel, the driver is informed with visual and auditory signals that draw attention to the maximum speed limits.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPM): The wireless Tire Pressure Monitoring System, displayed on the multifunctional screen, contributes to driving safety with correct tire pressure by constantly monitoring the air pressure of all tires and contributes significantly to fuel economy. Sensors record data on tire pressure and transmit it to the display device. Thus, tire pressure information, one of the most vital elements, becomes accessible to the driver at any time.
Attention Assistant (AtAs): Attention Assistant warns the driver with visual and auditory warnings when the driver begins to show signs of inattention and fatigue. The system, which becomes active above 60 km/h, creates the driver’s driving profile from the moment the ride starts. The system gives a warning when deviations occur in this profile.
Cyber Security System: The Cyber Security System in the vehicle protects the control units and system components against unauthorized access and hacker attacks from outside. The system works by focusing on the safety of life and property, vehicle functionality, and the protection of road users’ financial risks and personal data. “
