Mercedes Benz Group EBIT down 19 in second quarter

(Telestock) – Mercedes-Benz Group closed the second quarter of 2024 with revenues equal to 36.74 billion euros, down 3.9% compared to the same period in 2023. TheEBIT fell by 19.1% to 4.04 billion euros. Theuseful decreased by 15.9% to 3.06 billion euros.

The Return on sales (RoS) adjusted share of Mercedes-Benz Cars reached 10.2 percent (Q2 2023: 13.5 percent), while that of Mercedes-Benz Vans reached 17.5 percent (Q2 2023: 15.5 percent).

“Thanks to our desirable passenger cars and vans, Mercedes-Benz achieved double-digit margins in a challenging environment,” commented the CEO Ola Kaellenius – Looking ahead, we continue to invest in cutting-edge products while fostering our financial resilience. Sales and model mix are expected to improve in the second half of the year, supported by further market launches of new models, particularly in the Top-End segment.”

The guidance for Group revenues, Group EBIT and Group free cash flow remain unchanged. However, Mercedes-Benz Group now expects an adjusted return on sales for the automotive business of 10 to 11 percent, down from the previous target of 10 to 12 percent.
