Several Brantford schools were placed briefly in a hold and secure late Tuesday morning.
Police responded to a call regarding two men seen on foot carrying a crossbow in the vicinity of Ava and Hardy roads at about 11:10 am

St. Johns College, Tollgate Technological Skills Centre, Coronation and Russell Reid schools were placed under a hold and secure order while officers investigated.
Police located the two men and determined there was no threat to public safety.
No arrests were made, and the hold and secure orders were lifted after about 20 minutes.
