Men eat the most sausages here in the whole

For the past four years, Circle K has mapped the sausage habits of Swedes, to find out how much sausage an average Swede eats each year.

The survey was carried out by the Sifo panel between 4 and 11 September 2024. A total of 3,081 randomly selected people aged 16 to 79 were interviewed.

Those who took part in the survey correspond to a nationally representative sample.

The survey showed that a Swede in 2024 will eat an average of 47 sausages per year. The most popular sausage is chorizo, according to the survey.

– If there is something we at Circle K have in common with the Swedish people, it is that we appreciate sausages. We cherish a high meat content, a wide range and Swedish ingredients and therefore we are extra proud of how many people choose to eat with us out at the stations. We feel secure in the fact that we actually have Sweden’s best sausage menu to offer all sausage lovers, says Erika Söderlund, communications manager at Circle K in one press release.

Here, women mostly eat sausages

According to the survey, 51 percent of Swedes eat sausages a few times a month. But it differs quite a lot between the different counties.

Örebro is the city where women eat the most sausages in all of Sweden. There, the women eat approximately 46 sausages per year. The national average is 39 sausages per woman per year.

Here men mostly eat sausages

In Norrbotten and Gävleborg, the men eat an average of 69 sausages per year, which is the highest figure in the country.
