Memorial time in Fruängen – Died the boy’s football team in place

It was on Sunday evening that two teenage boys were shot at Fruängstorget in southern Stockholm. On Wednesday, the Prosecutor’s Office announced that one of the boys died of their injuries. The boy, who was 16, played in a football team in southern Stockholm. His team leader, Joakim Trovik Johansson, was one of those who came to the memorial time.

– I found out about this on Sunday night, pretty right after it happened. That it was one of our guys in the team. It was the biggest shock. Unreal. It still is.

Now the team has gathered at the time of memorial to honor their dead teammate and everyone affected.

– Tonight we will light candles and think about our team player, our friend and his family, says Joakim Trovik Johansson.

– I get really good when I see all the young people. I was prepared that there would be a lot of people here and at once you run into some of your own guys in the team.

“Many are very sad. All felt shock ”

As a team leader, Joakim’s focus is right now to take care of the young people in the team.

– Many are very sad, some do not know what to feel. Everyone felt shock, even we adults.

You have also had several collections in the team, which have been very emotional but important, says Joakim Trovik Johansson.

– We decided that we start internal communication. We talk, we call, we get the guys to talk to each other. Then we had a collection. There were conversations with deacon, police, fielders.

Continues with the workouts – for him

You have also been careful to continue with the workouts to keep the routine and community.

– It has felt very difficult I think for the players. But they have managed to get there and keep training together. I think that has been the most important thing. Yesterday came all but one then, who could not come.

And the team has a plan forward to get through the grief together, day by day.

– We do not accept what has happened and we intend to stick together, because that is the only thing we can do. We own our team and how we feel in our team and it should be our strength. We will play all season for him, says Joakim Trovik Johansson, adding:

– That was what meant most to our teammate that is no longer there. Football. These are dreams. It’s hope.
