(Finance) – The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Melonimet a Palazzo Chigi the EU commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, on the occasion of the first visit to a Member State from the start of his mandate.
At the center of the interview, the strengthening of the relationships of the European Union with his southern neighborhood through the “Pact for the Mediterranean“proposed by the Commission to equip the European Union of a coherent and strategic set of partnerships with the Mediterranean nations on the model of the agreements already started with Tunisia and Egypt and focusing on economic and social development, energy, safety and management of the migratory phenomenon. In this context, President Meloni underlined the centrality of energy themes and the added value of the Mattei Plan also in the context of the European Union Global Gateway.
The president and the commissioner finally focused on demographic themes and on the further strengthening of national and EU initiatives in support of parenting, training and accessing the work of the younger generations.
