Meizu will launch a new smartphone on February 29, the Geely-owned company confirmed, just seven days after announcing it was exiting the smartphone business. According to the first promotional image published on Weibo, the new device will be called Meizu 21 Pro and has a 6.79 inch screen.

Meizu is releasing a new smartphone on February 29

According to the company’s CEO, the 21 Pro should be Meizu’s swan song in the smartphone business. Thursday’s event is said to be a historic one as it will officially mark the transition from mobile phones to artificial intelligence. There is currently very little information available about this device. The CEO stated that it will feature advanced AI concepts that are superior to those found in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Huawei Pocket 2, but it is unclear what these include.

It is curious what kind of support the Meizu 21 Pro will receive, as the CEO said that the FlymeOS team will be restructured and start developing AI terminals for existing LLMs around the world, such as Open AI.
