MeinMMO editor Alexander Leitsch founds his own MMORPG podcast

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Alexander Leitsch and Mark Sellner – two of the MMORPG authors here on MeinMMO – have started a new podcast together: MMO News. This one is all about MMORPGs. However, the project is not a successor to the MeinMMO podcast and is not related to the website – it is purely a hobby project.

What is this project? In MMO News, Alex and Mark mainly talk about current events in MMORPGs:

  • At the beginning everything revolves around the top news of the last 14 days.
  • After that, they look at everything new that’s happened at the big 6 – WoW, ESO, GW2, FFXIV, Lost Ark and Black Desert.
  • The third section of the podcast is about personal experiences. What did we play? What strange things did we experience?
  • At the end there are one or two focus topics. In the first episode we looked at the current development of ArcheAge.
  • Regular episodes of MMO News are scheduled to appear every 14 days, always on Thursdays. The first episode came out on January 12th.

Occasionally specials are planned. For example, this week, on January 19th, we are looking at the year 2023 and making predictions about which MMORPGs will appear, which will die and which will change their payment model to Free2Play. A special on Throne and Liberty and a ranking of the best Guild Wars 2 expansions are already planned.

Where can you follow the podcast? MMO News is available on:

How does the project relate to MeinMMO? Not at all. So we started it as a hobby alongside our work because we both love podcasts and chatting about MMORPGs. Accordingly, we will not make any major excursions into the world of shooters, survival games or the world of influencers.

So the project will not replace the MeinMMO podcast. There will be another announcement about this in the coming weeks.
